be shown in its entirety in this temporary exhibition, co-curated by artist Rea Stavropoulos.
The exhibition reexamines Allingham’s work with a contemporary slant, looking past the
exquisite watercolour gardens that she is widely known for, to the life of the artist herself:

The speaker, Dr Stephen Brogan Stephen, was a founder of the Early Modern Society at Birkbeck College and its president from 2006-13. He is currently a visiting lecturer at Royal Holloway University. He last spoke to us entertainingly on the subject of “Scrofula-The King’s Evil and the King’s Touch”. The present lecture is about the spy, soldier, freemason and diplomat (1728-1810) on whom the London Stock Exchange took bets as to whether he/she was a man or a woman. All lectures are followed by free refreshments. Visitors are welcome £3.00, members of Fellowship House £1.00. There is no difficulty parking.
