12.45pm After practice with a cappella ensemble Apollo5, pupils from local schools, including Brooklands, Garden Suburb and Wessex Gardens Junior Schools, The Archer Academy, The Henrietta Barnett and Whitefield Schools, will showcase their ensemble singing. Apollo5 has won international praise for its retro jazz, pop and classical arrangements. Admission free. Supported by the HGS Residents Association

7.45pm Charlie Chaplin Triple Bill. Supported by Bear Nibbles. Performing live to screenings of iconic films is a speciality of the Orchestra of St Paul’s. Tonight’s screenings feature Chaplin’s The Cure, Easy Street and The Immigrant on the centenary of their first release, with the OSP, conducted by artistic director Ben Palmer, playing Carl Davis’s hilarious and touching scores live to the screen. Ben Palmer has conducted, among others, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin and the BBC Singers. Carl Davis’s vast output for film and TV includes acclaimed scores for The French Lieutenant’s Woman, BBC TV’s Pride and Prejudice and epic silent films such as Napoleon and Ben-Hur.
