7.45pm The highlight of this programme by one of the world’s best known choral ensembles is Fauré’s celebrated Requiem. The Choir will also be performing works by Duruflé, Tomkins, Byrd, Bach, Brahms and Bruckner. With origins dating back nearly 700 years, the choir’s fame expanded internationally in the 20th century with an extensive recording catalogue and the Christmas Eve Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols broadcast to millions round the world.
