LJCC - An Artist’s Interpretation On How Jews Have Kept Their Identity In An English Society

  • Wednesday 1 October 2014 at 2pm
at Ivy House .
£10 pre booked (£12 on the day)
Beverley-Jane Stewart’s unique style of painting looks at Jewish heritage brought up to-date with multiculturalism within today's society. She sees herself as a visual writer expressing facts with emotions shown in bold colours and strong lines interwoven with her personalised figurative style.

Beverley-Jane's early work focussed on synagogue services, the splendour of these buildings and the relationship to the people within. More recently her work goes beyond the buildings, linking the synagogue with local history and the association of being an immigrant and contributing to British society, applying the past to present.

Beverley-Jane’s first solo exhibition, Spirit Recaptured, will be held at Mayfair’s Trinity House Gallery from the 8th-17th September. The exhibition is then due to move to New York, opening in Spring 2015.
