NEW Grow a Potato in a Bag Competition for all ages - Come and get yours!

  • Saturday 3 February from 5:30pm to 7pm
at Fellowship House 136a Willifield Way, London NW11 6YD.
Seed potatoes and growing bags will be distributed on 3rd February at Fellowship House from 5.30-7pm and should be planted in the bag on or around 29th March. The first task will be to chit yours. This means placing them somewhere warm and sunny for them to sprout. All the potatoes will be harvested and weighed at the Flower Show on Saturday 16th June. Prizes for the most potatoes grown and for the heaviest potato. Any number of members of a family may enter. Information in the Members' Handbook or from Ruth Beedle ruthbeedle@tiscali.co.uk.

Quiz Night on a horticultural theme

An Arts and Crafts Revival: the restoration of Central Square & Sunshine Corner, by Stephen Crisp

PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE (Unfortunately, Stephen Crisp cannot give his talk on Thursday 12 April as he is judging at the RHS Show in Cardiff). Fortunately, we have been able to reschedule it for Thursday 19 April at 7.30 in Fellowship House. Stephen Crisp, Head Gardener to the US Ambassador and eminent garden designer, describes his landscape restoration and planting of Central Square and Sunshine Corner in the Suburb in 2017. Plant Sale

The Horticultural Society's popular annual plant sale, with discounted annual flowers and plants for your summer displays, perennials for your borders and vegetable and herb seedlings for your allotment or garden plot. Open Garden in aid of National Garden Scheme charities

Closing date for entries for Suburb in Bloom Competition 2018

Enter your lovely garden in the Horticultural Society's annual competition to find the best garden in Hampstead Garden Suburb. Generous prizes for the first three winners and the overall winner will be awarded the Millennium Cup at the AGM 2018. Judging takes place on Thursday 21 June. Three day tour of the gardens of Kent and Sussex

  • Sunday 1 July to Tuesday 3 July
Staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Felbridge, we will visit the late Christopher Lloyd's stunning Great Dixter, Driftwood Gardens in Seaford, Follers Manor near Alfriston, the Salutation Garden in Sandwich, Goodnestone Park Gardens, and Sissinghurst's Little Sister, where Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson gardened before moving to Sissinghurst. The Making of Henstead Exotic Garden by Andrew Brogan

Horticultural Society members on the 2017 three-day trip were bowled over by their visit to Henstead in Suffolk and want to share their experience of listening to Andrew Brogan describing how he made this amazing exotic garden about ten years ago with plants that would normally be happy growing in a jungle.
