Seed Swap and Talk on Butterflies by May Webber

Bring your flower, herb and veg seeds to swap with others free. If no seeds to swap, just pay a small donation towards any that you choose. Then enjoy the fascinating talk on Butterflies by May Webber. Free to Hort Soc members, £3 for non-members.

NEW - Spring Flower Exhibition

  • Saturday 9 April from 2pm to 4pm
at Fellowship House 136a Willifield Way, London NW11 6YD.
A non-competitive exhibition showing off the lovely cheery colours and scents of Spring. Bring your pots and vases of tulips, narcissi and other Spring flowers grown from bulbs, corms and tubers to Fellowship House for everyone to enjoy. If you can't exhibit, just come along and visit. Teas available. Staging of exhibits: 10am-12 noon. Entry free.

Plant Sale

Back after two years, Hort Soc's popular sale of high-quality perennial and annual flower, veg and herb seedlings and plants at discounted prices. Bring your own bags please.

Bring your entry forms for the June Flower Show to Fellowship House, Willifield Way, NW11 6YJ. New to growing and showing? Members of the committee will be there to advise if it is your first time. Alternatively, take your entry forms to 86 Willifield Way before 6pm on 7 June.This year the classes have been pared down and simplified to make them more accessible to all, young and old, fanatics and dabblers. Have a go!

June Flower Show and Scarecrow Competition

  • Saturday 11 June from 3pm to 5pm
at Free Church Hall Northway, London NW11 6PB.
Hort Soc's traditional flower show in the Free Church Hall, much missed for the last two years. Enjoy the sights and scents of the country in our London suburb. Meet family and friends in the small hall for home-made teas. This year the classes for adults and children to enter have been pared down to make them more accessible. Come along and see the changes. (If you are staging exhibits, do so between 8.30-11.15am.) Scarecrow Competition open to all ages: Get together with family and friends to make a scarecrow of your favourite DISNEY character. Scarecrows will be displayed in the Free Church Hall garden (indoors if wet). Bring them to the hall by 11.00am on Saturday11th June. Judging at 3.30pm. Entry to the show free to Hort Soc members, anyone entering a scarecrow and under-18s. Non-members £3.

Three-day CoachTrip to Gardens of the Cotswolds

  • Sunday 10 July to Tuesday 12 July

Suburb in Bloom - Open Gardens for Charity

  • Sunday 17 July from 11:30am to 5:30pm
Numerous beautiful Suburb gardens open to the public in aid of COMBAT STRESS and THE NORTH LONDON HOSPICE. Refreshments and plant nurseries' stalls at Fellowship House. Maps and tickets at Fellowship House and from individual gardens. Raffle with super prizes.

GRIMSDYKE BRASS will be making a welcome return and playing in the garden. Entry to the show free to Hort Soc members and under-18s. Non-members £3.

Talk: The Medicine Chest in your Garden by Ann Jones

Annual General Meeting and Prizegiving

Report of the past year's activities and advance information about what is planned for 2023's programme of events.
