LJCC - Napoleon with Andrew Roberts Part of The Dictator Series

  • Monday 6 October 2014 at 8pm
at Ivy House .
£12 pre booked (£15 on the day)
Although Napoleon is generally thought of as a friend to the Jews, and he did indeed liberate them in many of the States he conquered, privately he held much the same anti-Semitic views as one might expect from an upper-middle class French army officer in the late 18th/ early 19th century. Although he did extend civil and economic freedom to the Jews, Andrew Roberts will show that he was very far from being Righteous amongst Gentiles.

Join other historians Douglas Hurd and Richard Overy as they talk about such eclectic topics as Napoleon, Disraeli, and battles in history spanning six millenia.

Click here for Douglas Hurd: Disraeli on Tuesday 4 November, 8pm.

Click here for Richard Overy: Battles in History on Wednesday 19 November, 8pm.
