LJCC - Ukraine with William Tyler

  • Thursday 2 October 2014 from 10:30am to 3:30pm
at Ivy House .
£30 pre booked (£35 on the day)
To say that Ukraine has had a turbulent past is to describe its history mildly. In the 19th and 20th centuries alone it experienced the harshness and brutality of Tsarist and Soviet rule to say nothing of that of Nazi Germany. Virulent anti-Semitism and the suppression of its Tartar population have characterised Ukraine. Today the situation looks just as bleak.
We shall seek to understand the present by reference to the past.
