LJCC - French Art & Music From 1715-1815 with Patrick Bade

  • Wednesday 1 October 2014 from 10am to 3pm
at Ivy House .
£30 pre booked (£35 on the day)
Patrick will explore French painting in the century between the death of Louis XIV in 1715 and the final defeat of Napoleon in 1815. Momentous political changes from the Ancien Regime to the age of revolutions and Napoleonic wars are reflected in changing styles. We conclude with the bombastic propaganda of Baron Gros and the early works of Ingres and Géricault.
