LJCC - How Mussolini Became Mussolini Part of the Dictator Series with Donald Sassoon

The lecture will examine the causes, long-term and short-term, of Mussolini’s advent to power: the First World War, the post-war turmoil, the rise of the fascist party, and what lessons, if any, might be drawn when a society in crisis is faced with an extremist movement which looks, in the context of the time, as a reasonable possibility.
