LJCC - Make Friends with a Book with Kate Fulton
at Ivy House .
£5 per session
A shared reading group is a fantastic way to explore great works of literature and poetry, while meeting new people and exploring ideas and thoughts together.
It is not a book club or an English literature lesson. Each week Kate will bring along a short story and a poem or two, which shares a theme with the story. You don’t need to buy any books to bring. We will read the story aloud – anyone who wants to can read some. We stop at intervals to talk about what is happening or how we feel about what we are reading. All types of literature form part of the sessions from classics to modern stories. Once a group becomes established then if the group wishes to we could progress to a joint novel, Kate will bring the books. Kate Fulton trained by the Reader Organisation, has had success in bringing shared reading to different groups of people from library groups to care homes. Kate was a barrister and worked as a media lawyer for 20 years before becoming involved with audio recording of books and magazines for the blind. Ivy House
