LJCC - The Divine Sarah with Maureen Kendler

  • Wednesday 17 September 2014 from 10:30am to 12:30pm
at Ivy House .
£16 pre booked (£20 on the day)
Sarah Bernhardt was an exceptional actress, French icon and one of the earliest global celebrities. Although a self-proclaimed atheist and practising Catholic, there was a strong thread of Jewishness in her life that provided both a force and an obstacle to her great achievements in the arts, and her legacy to divas ever after.

Maureen Kendler is globally recognised as a superb educator. She is a teaching fellow at the London School of Jewish Studies and is a UJIA Ashdown Fellow. Her background and foreground combines teaching literature and Jewish texts.
