LJCC - Ivy House Music and Dance Leonard Elschenbroich, cello & Alexei Grynyuk, piano

  • Tuesday 21 October 2014 at 8pm
at Ivy House .
£18

This outstanding duo presents an impressive programme including Bach’s Cello Suite No.1 in G Major, Caprices by Piatti (the Paganini of cello) and the Brahms Sonata No.1 for cello and piano in E minor, Op.3.

Leonard Elschenbroich, founding member of the Sitkovetsky Trio and BBC New Generation Artist 2012, swept to stardom after receiving the Leonard Bernstein Award. Alexei Grynyuk won first prize at the Vladimir Horowitz competition and the Shanghai International Piano Competition. Together they often perform with Nicola Benedetti as a trio.

…a performance of tremendous assurance and power… Grynyuk‘s energy and Elschenbroich’s sense of poetry are joyously to the fore. Exceptional.
